The mission of Career-Technical Education is to help empower students for effective participation in an international economy as world-class workers and citizens. The nontraditional aspects of Vocational Education provides information that workforce development teachers, academic teachers, counselors, and administrators can use to assist all students, both male and female, in setting and attaining career goals.
Making a decision about career choice should be based on personal interests and talents, not on what society considers being "traditional" or "appropriate" careers for one's gender. When choosing a career based on individual abilities and interests, the student will have the opportunity to achieve greater job satisfaction, earnings potential, and become highly successful in his or her chosen field. Maximizing a student’s career choices will maximize his or her opportunity for success!
